How To Repair Self Closing Drawers

  1. I accept soft closing drawers in my kitchen. A drawer started making a sort of ping or click when I open information technology and I noticed it wasn't closing all the style by itself anymore.  I figured out how to take the drawer out.  I establish the gas pistons at the rear of the gliders and discovered that the left piston is working properly but the right 1 is not. It is not relatching at the tiptop when yous open the drawer.  Ie, y'all close the drawer and the piston draws back and and then when you open up the drawer there is a niggling catch that attaches to the piston and draws information technology dorsum forrad to reset it in place, but right before it recatches, information technology springs back.  This is obviously the ping I've been hearing.  I've tried several times moving the slider very slowly to run across if I tin can get it to recatch, but it fails the same way each time.  Does anyone know how to fix or conform these?  I attached a couple of pictures and then that you can see what the piston looks like.  Not sure if they're very helpful.  It was difficult to get whatsoever lighting.  I am not particularly handy so if it needs replacing, I will just have to call someone.  Thank you for any suggestions!  Val

  2. I can't tell anything from your clarification or photograph's but accept a look on Woodfit's website.
  3. You should be able to look at the working catch, and figure out what needs doing to the not-working catch to fix it. You can practise it, trust me.

  4. I have looked at the working catch and compared them, which is why I'k stumped.  I don't see whatsoever difference that should be causing the right catch not to piece of work.  I've tried adjusting the rails a lilliputian thinking they might take not been sufficiently parallel, I've figgled with the lever that is supposed to motility the drawer face up up and down wondering if that inverse the angle at which the drawer glides.  I've hooked and rehooked the grab manually hundreds of times now, but nothing seems to make it stay.  I don't get it.  I will check out the webside chippie mentions above for any other clues.  Thanks for the aid!  I am going to keep trying.

  6. It is hard to tell, merely I don't think then.  I took the drawer off again and found DTC 533 on the rail.  A google search turned up: http://dtc.gmc.globalmarket.com/products/details/dtc-total-extension-under-mount-slide-376391.html  I didn't actually find whatsoever problem shooting information on that site however.  maybe I should just buy a new one?  Thanks, Val
